Just about everywhere you go for classes, you'll see the Paragon SC-2 or a similar kiln in use for metal clay. That's because it really is a great little kiln.

Pat Evans says, "I don't think you'll regret it if you get one."

“Even though I am considering getting a larger kiln so that I can do bigger pieces of glass, I am also considering replacing my Paragon SC-3 with the smaller Paragon SC-2 (same footprint, but shorter). The reason is that I tote my SC-3 along when I teach, and I'd like the lesser weight of the SC-2. Even when I get a larger kiln for my glass work, I'll still use my SC-3 for metal clay, enameling, and for teaching. It works like a champ for glass, enamel and metal clay, is a great size for firing a small to medium class's wares, and I've never had a moment's problem with it. I also like ease of taking hot things in and out of the front opening. And if I do have problems, I've heard enough about Paragon's stellar customer service that I know it will get taken care of.

I don't think you'll regret it if you get one. That's not to say you won't want another, bigger kiln down the line--but you won't want to give up your SC-2 when you get it!

“I'm not an affiliate of Paragon, just a happy user.”
